Vote!

  • Henry Florence was own for Porterville last Monday.
  • During the fine weather threshing is being pushed rapidly.
  • Registered voters of the People’s party should not forget their duty next Monday.
  • Large numbers of travelers are passing through here on their way north probably to escape the hot weather. Good idea.
  • Charles Whall died at his residence about noon yesterday. For about three weeks he has been afflicted with asthma and dropsy, and during the latter part of the time no hopes of his recovery have been entertained. He leaves a wife and three children.
  • While Horace E. Lewis was loading hay last Monday his team became frightened at a header at work in an adjoining field and ran away, throwing him off the load and breaking two bones of his right hand. Dr. Ingram set the broken bones and Horace is now carrying his arm in a sling.
  • We have just been handed the neat business card of Joseph & Phillips, surveyors and civil engineers with offices at Kaysville and Bountiful. The members of the firm are H. S. Joseph of Salt Lake who will take charge of the Bountiful office and Thomas H. Phillips who will look after their business affairs in Kaysville.
  • A new brick company consisting of Walter Dummer, James Burnett and Mr Fitts, has just been organized in Kaysville. Their yard is situated on Mr. Dummer’s property, and when they get in good running order their capacity will be about twenty thousand per day. Mr. Fitts understands brick burning thoroughly, and under his supervision they will no doubt turn out some excellent brick.
