Cemetery Tour
Sixth Annual

Come Walk With the Dead

Daylight hours, October 13th – 31st

Six new grave sites of business people and civic leaders will be spotlighted on the 2024 Kaysville Cemetery Tour.  This year twenty-six total sites will be available for viewing and feature pioneers through 20th century leaders of our community. The beautiful and historic cemetery is a peaceful place to stroll; pausing to read their individual stories helps to show gratitude and appreciation for their efforts.

While some maps are provided in the mailbox near the utility shed east of the main gates, visitors are asked to return them before leaving. Colorful October and Halloween decorations will also point participants to locate each site. Most decorated headstones are located in the center sections right and left of Honey Locust path. A QR code on the sign outside the cemetery gates and on the back of the map give online directions for the 2023 and 2024 featured individuals – 2024 to be uploaded early next week.

The Kaysville – Fruit Heights Museum of History and Art and the Kaysville City Historic Preservation Commission thanks Kaysville City Parks & Rec,  the IT Department, the city’s new sextant, and other employees for their cooperation, assistance, and careful maintenance of our beautiful cemetery.

If you enjoy our walking tours, please volunteer to help us set up the tour next year. Email us at ourkaysvillestory@gmail.com now.

Children’s Activity – Interview

Look around your neighborhood and choose a grown-up who has lived for a long time. Maybe you could ask your parents to take you to visit someone who is housebound or lives in a retirement center. How do you think their life as a child was different from yours? Think of some questions to ask them about when they were younger. Draw pictures or write down answers they told you that you found interesting. Share what you create with them as a thank-you gift.
